FLABEG GmbH Solar Mirrors Since its early beginnings as a glass foundry, having been established in 1882 by Sigmund Glaser and Alois and Eduard Kupfer, the Furth im Wald site has experienced a history of development and growth right up to the present day. In the years 1952/1953, it underwent its most radical change, from glass manufacture to glass finishing. This restructuring process included the installation of the first silvering line in Europe. Reacting quickly to changing market requirements or, even better, shaping them is of course one of the key prerequisites for such a long and successful presence in the marketplace. For instance, FLABEG GmbH is a pioneer in the field of solar thermal energy. We began with the development of solar reflectors back in 1978, and from 1983 to 1991 we delivered approximately 3 million square meters of mirrors to California and Nevada (USA). These solar power plants still produce reliably to this day. Since the world began focusing heavily on renewable energy sources, we have more than doubled our capacity for solar reflectors. We work with our motivated team at the location and produce using state-of-the-art technologies. Our expertise in high-precision bending and the continuous optimization of our production processes, as well as our many years of experience in the field of solar thermal energy, are making us a global market leader. We are continuing to work on improving the efficacy of our mirrors and, in collaboration with our customers, on optimizing the entire system. |
